A pasta lesson

I found some tips on a better way to cook pasta than just boiling water. This from Food & Wine magazine.

SALT THE WATER just before adding the pasta, not while bringing to a boil.

SAVE SOME OF THE STARCHY WATER (before draining) to help thicken, season and round out the flavors in almost any finished dish.

USE THE RIGHT QUANTITIES--For every half-pound of pasta, use 3 quarts of water and 2 Tablespoons of kosher salt.
