Dinner: Impossible! Wildwood episode is airing Sunday
Cape Cuisine and blog readers will remember the piece I did on Dinner: Impossible! when the Food TV show came to Wildwood to film an episode at Morey's Piers and along the Wildwood Boardwalk. Well the show is airing this Sunday, July 20 at 11 p.m. According to the e-mail I just received about it, the episode will be rebroadcast sometime in August on a date yet to be announced.
The deal was this: Morey's had a 40th anniversary dinner celebration planned for all their employees in early May, and chef Michael Symon, who was picked to replace chef Robert Irvine who was not rehired after he was found to have embellished some things on his resume, was given the challenge of cooking a Boardwalk-food-style dinner for 300 people--using only ingredients and product from the Boardwalk and restaurants just off the Boardwalk on Pacific Ave--USING ONLY THE TRAM CAR FOR TRANSPORTATION. Classic. This is when I learned that he made chocolate-covered bacon at Laura's Fudge that everyone said was awesome! Anyway, look for locals like Jack Morey and chefs from Boyd's Texas Style Barbecue, Laura's Fudge and Juan Pablo's help prepare the meal. Can't wait. TIVO alert!
