Quahog's Seafood Shack opens to good reviews
Hearing very good things about Quahog's Seafood Shack from people in Stone Harbor and surrounding communities. In the old Tridi Jo's building on 97th in the borough, Lucas Manteca is hoping to fill a void by opening a seafood shack. He has a Spring Lunch Takeout Menu of Po Boys (clam, shrimp or oyster), fish cakes and Fish and Chips, and then, depending on what he finds fishermen bringing into the docks each morning, that's what will determine the nightly menu. Like today (Thursday) for instance, he arrived in Cape May as commercial boats were bringing in yellowfin tuna. "I had just had to get this fish," said the Argentinian chef who also owns and operates Sea Salt, also in Stone Harbor. "It's gorgeous." And so, yellowfin it is.
My Cape Cuisine column next week will feature Quahog's (pronounced ko-hogs). Send me a review if you eaten there. seitz@catamaranmedia.com.
