Owen's Pub goes for expansion

North Wildwood restaurant/bar Owen's Pub is on the City Council's agenda tonight, Tuesday, March 4, looking for approval to expand its restaurant. Owen's owners purchased the property next door to their's on 17th Avenue and demolished it. They are hoping to expand the seating area to meet demand and, according to Councilman Patrick Rosenello, want to add a patio/seating area. A North Wildwood police officer told me today that added traffic might be a concern, not to mention parking, because there already is a parking problem in the area, which will lead to people circling the area waiting for someone to leave. Owen's has good food at real good prices in a nice atmosphere. a patio sounds like a great idea to me, but I get to drive home when I'm done eating. The neighbors don't. I'll post more after tonight's meeting.

I love Owen's food and the family atmosphere in the seating area.

But, I am concerned that when you combine their proposed expansion with the planned restaurant at 18th & New Jersey then you're creating the critical mass for problems.

While I want Owen's to thrive, I live on 18th Street and have REAL concerns about the traffic/parking.
