Update on North Wildwood's new restaurant

Eden, a 102-seat BYOB with al-fresco style dining on the roof, is coming to North Wildwood. The owners hope it will be open by April. The Planning Board approved the project in mid-November. The full story is on the cover of the Wednesday, Nov. 28 Wildwood Leader, which can be read online at www.thewildwoodleader.com. The O'Brien family, which lives next to the single-family home that will become the restaurant, purchased the property in January and plans to open a "quiet, relaxing" BYOB with plenty of attention going toward aesthetics and landscaping. They said many of the key employees will be family members. The building, at 18th and New Jersey, will be across the street from Woody's and down the street from Owen's Pub, but the O'Briens said they don't believe they'll by pulling customers from those restaurants. Rather, they said, they'll be adding another option for diners.

Wildwood is becoming a mecca for great new restaurants, more reasonably priced than options in Cape May! Kudos to the Wildwoods for giving us so many great dining options that are open all year long. Great story Rob!

I love new dining options in North Wildwood. But, I live on the block where this is proposed.

Parking, drunks from Woody's already cause problems in the summer ... this place doesn't sound like a major alcohol mover since its a BYOB ... but where will these people park?

I'm all for dining options and people's right to make a living, but I believe that putting another restaurant in this radius will do nothing but spread thin the other restaurants/pubs intake and maybe bring one or two to close over the next couple years. Then add the traffic, which is already in chaos, and it's just adding more. Good Luck!
